Economic Trend Opportunity: Influence Consumers
to Buy U.S. Products
o
I see the trade deficit narrowing as an
opportunity to create a way to influence consumers to purchase products made in
the U.S. that may be cheaper now than they were before.
o
There could be two main customers – the end
consumer and the business selling to the producer.
o
I feel this opportunity could be easy to exploit.
Consumers want information that is easily and quickly accessed, especially when
it comes to their own money.
o
I see this as an opportunity most likely due to
the nature of my job. In my role, I act as an internal consultant to my
business to help us identify external trends that may impact how hiring needs. So,
I am constantly looking at trends and having to evaluate both sides.

Economic Trend Opportunity: Investing at the End
of a Bull Cycle
o
I see this as an opportunity to provide guidance
to individual investors about how they should have their investments structured
if they are anticipating the bull market to end.
o
The customer would be individual investors that
have retirement plans, cash investments, or are looking to start investing now.
o
I feel this opportunity could be easy to
exploit. The average investor does not do a lot of research. If there is an
opportunity for them to get guidance from someone else about how to make more
money, they will.
o
I see this as an opportunity due to how active I
am with my own retirement investments. I read multiple financial publications
daily and I love helping others.
·
Regulatory Change Opportunity: Informing
Mortgage Customers of APR Savings
o
I see this as an opportunity to provide automatic
updates of potential APR savings to current mortgage customers when rate cuts happen.
o
The customer would be individuals who currently have
a mortgage.
o
I feel this opportunity could be easy to exploit
due to mortgage customers willingness to refinance in order to save money.
o
I see this as an opportunity because I am
currently in the market to transition from renting to owning a home. I am constantly
checking rates and I am sure I will continue to do so even after I purchase a
home so I can refinance and save money.
·
Regulatory Change Opportunity: Text Blocking
While Driving
o
I see this as an opportunity to automatically
block or disable texting abilities when a phone’s GPS is moving above certain
speeds.
o
The customer would be the individual phone
owners along with the phone manufacturers and phone carriers.
o
This would be extremely difficult to exploit due
to texting behaviors and push back from the phone manufacturers and phone
carriers.
o
I see this as an opportunity as I am personally focused
on not texting while driving, so it is something on my mind daily.
Hey Justin, your blog post was very informative on new regulatory and economic changes. I enjoyed reading about how the trade deficit is shrinking, which is mainly due to renegotiated trade deals that favor the US. I think blocking texting while driving is a great change; there will be fewer accidents and fatalities with this new law.
